Lee Matthews boasts a long career within the Australian arts
industry. In recent years he has turned his attention
towards the film and television industry.
Recognised as an authority on arts funding and festival
management his professional business credits (to name a few)
include managing and producing the Melbourne Midsumma
Festival as well as a key development role with Queer Screen
the producers of the Sydney Mardi Gras Film Festival.
Recently graduating from the VCA with a postgraduate
diploma in Film & Television (Producing), he has been
involved in the management of over 20 successful short
films, producing twelve of those himself. In 2003 and 2007, Lee
and his family were the principal subjects in Emma Crimmings’
SBS documentaries: Two men and a baby; and Two men and two
babies; where he worked extensively both in front of and
behind the camera.
Lee's screen interests are varied, along with his interest
in the kinds of screen content he is interested in
producing. All influenced by great content
creators such as Alan Ball (Six Feet Under), Aaron Sorkin
(West Wing), Joss Whedon (Buffy) and Diablo Cody (United
States of Tara).
With extensive business acumen, and a passion for innovative
story telling, he is well placed as principal of
Matthewswood Productions Pty Ltd. An in demand and
innovative producer, this year's calendar promises an already
busy schedule for Lee and his production company, with both
corporate and privately backed development projects underway
for television, cinema and online content. |

Adele, who is struggling to find herself after a break-up
travels to Croatia in 2001, not long after Yugoslavia was
torn apart by civil war. Staying in an abandoned school
building by the sea, a love triangle develops between her
and a couple she meets, who are on the run from Serbian
black-market gangs. This moody, romantic drama explores the
uncanny intimacy that can develop between strangers, and the
