Training:

Postgraduate Diploma Film & Television (Narrative), Victorian College of the Arts and Music, The University of Melbourne, 2010.

Chas Fisher was born in England in 1984 but was raised in Egypt, India and Argentina. This radical exposure to different cultures and ways of life at a young age left him with the burning desire to explore social and cultural conflicts. Whilst studying law, he started up a theatre company that was committed to original works that put urban society under a microscope. After two years as a lawyer, his soul fell out and he returned to arts, committed to exploring humanity through film and entertainment.

In 2013, Chas co-wrote and presented ‘Our Little Secret’ for the ABC - a documentary investigating why child sex abuse happens in the first place. In 2014, his pirate ship murder mystery screenplay ‘The Creed’ reached the semi-finals of the Final Draft Big Break Competition, the Screencraft Thriller Contest and the Bluecat Screenplay Competition.

In 2014, he and fellow VCA graduate Stu Willis launched Draft Zero: a Screenwriting Podcast (www.draft-zero.com) to create a resource for aspiring and emerging screenwriters and filmmakers.

Chas is currently working on a sci-fi comedy, a historical biopic about polyamory and comic books and a sci-fi thriller (hopefully to be his feature length directorial debut). He has been described as "genre agnostic".
